 You do not need to become a member of Epiphany Lutheran Church to worship with us, be involved in ongoing ministries or give financially to the mission of Christ’s church.

However, everyone who desires membership is first asked to attend the “101 Class.”  Whether you are from a Lutheran background or not, we ask that everyone who wishes to become a member first go through this class.

This class is specifically designed to teach the main doctrines that Lutherans believe, teach and confess according to the Holy Scriptures (The Old and New Testaments of the Bible).

(1) The 101 Class is team taught by the pastors;

(2) It is offered on Sunday mornings during the main Bible-study hour (Currently at 10:00 AM);

(3) It meets in Room #203 in the upstairs area of the gym.

Topics include:

    • The 10 Commandments and how they apply today.

    • God’s Amazing Grace in the unique person and work of His Son, Jesus Christ.

    • How God has revealed Himself to a sinful world.

    • The two main messages of the Bible (Law & Gospel) and the gift of Faith which God the Holy Spirit gives to believers.

    • The creation of the universe by God the Father.

    • The Sacrament of Holy Baptism.

    • The ongoing struggle between the sinner and saint in all of us, and the power for living a Christian life.

    • The Sacrament of Holy Communion.

    • What is the Church and what gifts has God given it to carry out His mission.

    • Why do Lutherans worship the way we do.

    • What is my response to God’s grace as a steward of time, talents and treasures.

    • The end times when Christ returns.

At the end of the 101 Class, new members are asked to sign a “Membership Covenant” as a written pledge of what they believe and how they will commit to the mission of Epiphany Lutheran Church.

Finally, you are not obligated to join just because you go through the class.  Those who simply wish to investigate the Faith are welcome.
